Third Line IT Engineer

 

Job role:

To provide hardware and software technical support, including maintenance, repairs, advice and installations across the UK.
The position is based from the Microtest Bodmin offices but does involve some away working when required. Transport is supplied.

Experience:

– 1 year experience in IT & servicing IT Systems & Customers.
– Clean and current UK Driving License.

Demonstrate Key Skills in:

– Windows Server and desktop administration and networking
– General understanding of Computer systems and their architecture
– Social and written communication

Training:

– Technical skills development provided under a defined advancement framework and foundation skill set.

IT Sales-System Advisor

 

Job role:

To be part of the Microtest sales team with the primary role as contact for business and consumer sales at Microtest.  To develop new sales leads and to promote Microtest in the business markets by establishing the required contacts through business networking and other forums to grow the market share.

To offer network design and customer consultation for new and existing clients, working closely with the engineering department, to help aid the smooth transition from order through to installation.

Sales PR will also form part of the role in relation to business networking, attending exhibitions and sales training.

After sales care will be in included as part of the role by supporting clients- both during and after installations and with quarterly visits (in relation to maintenance contracts) – and with any goods sold through the Microtest.

The role will also cross skill with other members of the Sales & Admin Team to help cover holidays, corporate events, sickness and other absences as and when required.

– Consumer sales
– Sales development to business within Cornwall and Devon
– Company promotion via Networking, exhibitions & events
– Customer consultation
– Project management of installations
– Network design
– After sales support
– Training on new products

Key Skills:

The Post holder should have a good understanding of IT hardware & software products and the respective licensing, they must maintain awareness of developments in the industry in order to advise customers on the most suitable hardware and/or software for their needs. He/she should be an excellent communicator and be able to deal effectively with any issues related to their sales, with both the customer and the Engineering department, and will be the customer’s initial point of contact for a minimum of 3 months after the sale of the product(s) or in the case of a maintenance contract; act as the account manager.  The post holder must have a clean, full and current UK Driving Licence, must have an eye for detail and be able to work on their own initiative or as part of a team.
