Microtest today announced that it has been confirmed as a Lot 3 supplier within the GP Systems of Choice (GPSoC) framework contract, which was issued by the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC). This follows on from the award to Microtest in November 2014 of a GPSoC Lot 2 contract. As a keen participant in the programme, Microtest sees GPSoC Lot 3 as a significant step forward.
The procurement for the new GPSoC framework was broken down into three separate lots, of which, Lot 3 focuses on products that span primary, secondary and community care. Such products enable highly controlled horizontal information sharing between services that were formerly only vertically connected, with the result that clinicians working in those settings can have fuller and more timely patient information available to them, leading to better outcomes.
Microtest is one of the UK’s top four GP system suppliers and has been providing clinical systems since 1982.
Chris Netherton, Managing Director of Microtest said: “We are looking forward to being able to offer our cross-care products – notably ‘The Guru’ – through this new channel.”
