Following recent announcements in the primary care healthcare IT sector, Microtest today confirmed that it will continue to provide its locally hosted solutions for current and new customers with a locally hosted requirement for the foreseeable future. The company, which was recently confirmed as a Lot 1 Principal Clinical System Supplier within the GP Systems of Choice (GPSoC) framework contract, will continue to provide Evolution, its comprehensive clinical system, as a locally hosted solution. Microtest is one of the UK’s top four GP system suppliers and has been providing clinical systems to the primary care sector since 1979.
Chris Netherton, Managing Director of Microtest said: “In my view, the choice of a locally hosted or remotely hosted system comes second only to the choice of the clinical system itself. Our locally hosted practices have never experienced a National outage and benefit from one of the most reliable systems available. We are very keen to confirm to our existing customers and to those interested in moving to Microtest Evolution that whilst we will shortly have a hosted system available, we have no intention of ending our support or ongoing development of our locally hosted systems. We feel that it’s important for practices to be able to choose to operate with a system that’s either sited within the practice or one that is remotely hosted. It’s an important principle for us as we recognize that practices operate in a range of environments and with differing preferences.”
