Microtest users and interested parties flocked to the Lanhydrock Hotel and Golf Course on 17th June to join in on Microtest’s 60thbirthday celebrations and listen to updates on Microtest’s solutions and innovations.
The day started with a talk by Mr Adrian Marchbank, Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon and Caldicott Guardian at Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust, who talked to the group about his work as Caldicott guardian and the sharing of patient records. A fascinating talk which shed real light on the pros and cons of record sharing.
Yorick O’Nyons, Practice Manager at Trescobeas Surgery then discussed his innovative and exciting use of the Microtest Evolution Appointments module which has resulted in time savings, and the production of real benefits whilst easily meeting patient demand. Enthusiastic questions followed!
During breakout sessions throughout the day, attendees were able to meet Microtest Technical and Training Staff and have one to one sessions, where they were shown new functionality including QoF Dock, Performance Plus, The Waiting Room 2, Floaty Notes, the new Journals Module, Guru and much, much more.
Paul Jacka of Kernow CCG was a special guest who was on hand to offer help and advice during the day.
Dawn Morse, Microtest’s Lead trainer and Alison Fry, Assistant Practice Manager at Trescobeas Surgery then talked the crowd through new QOF functionality and how the newly unveiled Performance Plus module improves both patient care and the patient experience whilst also saving time and important resource.
The afternoon was dedicated to Microtest’s Guru, which is being deployed across the county and the UK. Dr Adam Ellery and Tina Vinnel of Mounts Bay Medical Ltd gave listeners an insight into how they are working with practices in West Cornwall to provide new treatment options for their patient population.
After a break for birthday cake, listeners were treated to an overview of how Ian Nicholls (Lead Pharmacist. Royal Cornwall Hospitals) and Dr Neil Davidson (Medical Director. West Cornwall Hospital) are using Guru to benefit patients and clinicians. Again, masses of questions for another highly successful project.
The day culminated with a meet the panel Q&A and the drawing of a raffle for the top prize of an iPad, won by Martine Ede. Other lucky attendees won Windows Tablets, a Brother Digital Scanner, A Brother Laser Printer, Bottles of Champagne and boxes of Chocolates.
