Chris Netherton

Managing Director


Chris has been Managing Director since 1987 and also sits on the NHS England Digital Primary Care Executive Board. Chris is a tireless champion of applying technology to improve the effectiveness of healthcare, something he writes about in his regular blog on the Microtest website. Chris puts customers first and is always available to answer questions directly and to help. Chris inspires his team to constantly innovate and improve Microtest’s software, while delivering outstanding service to all their customers.

‘Stuff’ Netherton

Assistant Managing Director


‘Stuff’ Netherton (aka Chris Jr) joined Microtest in 1994. With a degree in Computing and Networks, Stuff has worked in a wide variety of roles across the organisation and has over twenty years’ experience working on NHS software projects. Today, Stuff plays a pivotal role in all Microtest’s software development, bringing to bear his extensive knowledge of the primary care marketplace.

Greg White

Software Director


Greg holds degrees in Mathematics and in Computer Science from Southampton University and has designed innovative clinical software for over 30 years. In his current role at Microtest, Greg analyses user requirements to scope the functionality of our new software development. Greg also works closely with our Clinical Safety Officer (a GP) to ensure that our software meets all clinical assurance requirements.

Tristan Netherton

Head of Sales


Having joined the family business in 2001 as a Build Technician, Tristan has progressed within the company and now oversees a team which covers all sales streams. These include the NHS, government, local councils, businesses and consumers. Tristan’s primary role is to provide consultancy to help identify and deliver cutting edge solutions for our customers. This often involves ‘blue sky thinking’ for which Tristan has a particular flair.

Shaun Mumford

Programme Manager


Having joined Microtest in 2015, Shaun is Application Delivery Manager and the company’s main point of contact with NHS Digital on GPSoC. He also sits on the NHS England Digital Primary Care Executive Board. Shaun has over 35 years of programme management experience in a wide breadth of public and private sector organisations, including ship refitting, nuclear weapon maintenance and IT-enabled business change.

Alison Fry

Strategic Manager


Alison is our Strategic Manager. Having spent 16 years in practice management, in both clinical and administrative roles, her frontline clinical experience is invaluable to Microtest. In 2014, Alison won ILM Manager of the Year in the Leadership and Management category for her work streamlining systems to meet the changing needs of General Practice, leading to improvements in patient care and financial performance.

Adan Lopez-Santander

Systems Architect


Adan has multi-faceted experience spanning marketing and business consultancy before technical architectural roles in the software industry. He has designed software for over 20 years for companies including Audi, Danone, FCC, and Peugeot. Adan now leads the development of Microtest’s vision for software and technologies. With a PhD in Engineering Mathematics, he is also a Visiting Research Fellow in Engineering at Plymouth University.

Alan Trevennor

Business Manager


Alan Trevennor has worked for international companies (latterly Hewlett Packard) in various engineering, consulting and solutions architecture roles. He mainly worked on projects with media and communications companies such as Sony, the BBC, Sky, Reuters, Nokia and BT. With multiple published books to his credit, Alan’s role at Microtest spans business management and technical authorship.

Rob Dent

Engineering/Dev Ops Manager


Rob joined in 1991 as a database programmer and over the last 25 years has worked as an Installations Engineer and Chief Systems Engineer, his experience having spanned everything from training to technical coordination. As Engineering Manager, Rob is now involved in the full spectrum of Microtest services across all departments.  Rob’s exceptional breadth of experience enables him to deal effectively with even the most challenging problems.

Dr William Davies

Clinical Safety Officer


After studying medicine in London, William came to the South West in 2005 to train as a GP and is now a full time GP partner in a busy Plymouth inner city surgery. William has a particular interest in making IT systems clinically safe through effective functionality. He has been Microtest’s Clinical Safety Officer since early 2017 and works closely with the software development team.

Roger Thomas

Business Analyst


Having joined Microtest over 25 years ago as a Service Desk Technician, Roger has progressed through the company, working as Service Desk Manager and now Business Analyst, as well as gaining experience in troubleshooting, sales and training. Roger has developed an extensive knowledge of the needs of our customers, NHS requirements and emerging healthcare developments. This provides him with the ideal skills to create software design scopes that are forward-looking and industry leading.

Lynn File

Brand Communications Consultant


After working as Account Director for blue chip clients in London advertising agencies, Lynn set up her own strategic marketing consultancy, Brand Innovation, with technology clients including Digital Scotland, the £132 million EU programme Superfast Cornwall, Connecting Somerset and Marine-i. Lynn leads the creation of all marketing communications for Microtest, working closely with our team.

Dan Streeter

Technical Software Project Manager


Dan joined Microtest in 2013 as a web developer. He spearheaded the development of our advanced patient data sharing solution, Guru, which has won multiple national awards. Dan is passionate about utilising cutting edge technology to exceed customers’ expectations and has become a valued staff mentor. As Technical Software Project Manager, he ensures that projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.

Matthew Chubb

Regional Manager, Wales


 Matthew joined Microtest in 2012 as a Customer Services representative, after running his own IT support business as a Microsoft Certified Engineer. In 2016, he became the Microtest Training Team manager and he played a key role in the migration of GP practices in the Channel Islands to Microtest.  With a strong commitment to to outstanding customer service, Matthew has been appointed Regional Manager for Wales and is looking forward to working with our new customers in NHS Wales over the years ahead.
